Project Name : A Window to the Serenity

Connecticut, 2014 Master bathroom expansion and renovation. A set of tall Shoji screens was placed here as a window through which owners can recall their memory in the East and look into the calmness of their mind. With softened sunlight coming through it, it is also a visual focus of this linear space. Dark brown of its frames, as well of the ceiling panel and floor, accentuates the whiteness of the walls and cabinets. All the surfaces carry subtle but unique patterns of woods, tiles, and stones. Wide sliding doors make natural transition from the bedroom to this serene space.
